How to Make a Gift to Purnell School

There are several ways to make a gift to Purnell. Gifts to the Annual Fund are counted from July 1 through June 30 in conjunction with our fiscal year calendar.

Making a Gift by Phone:

To make a gift by phone, please call the Development Office at 908-439-4008 or 908-439-4017.

Making a Gift Online:

To give online, visit www.purnell.org/givenow

To Make a Gift by Mail:

To make a gift by mail, checks may be made payable to Purnell School and mailed to Development Office, 51 Pottersville Road, P.O. Box 500, Pottersville, NJ 07979.

To Make a Gift of Stock:

Gifts of stock may be made by one of two simple methods. Each method is easy and straightforward, but we ask you to first, please call Purnell at (908) 439-4017 or (908) 439-4008 to inform us that you are making a stock gift. This will prepare us to receive your gift and allows us to acknowledge your gift promptly. Remember that your gift of appreciated securities to Purnell benefits the School right now and you will receive tax benefits from your gift as well.

(I) Electronic Transfer:

Call your broker to provide the number of shares and name(s) of the stock(s) you want to transfer, then instruct the broker to transfer the stock(s) to:

Please be sure your broker references your name in transfer instructions.

(II) Open a Brokerage Account:

Ask your broker to open an account in Purnell's name, transfer the securities to it, and sell them for Purnell.

Your broker should not sell the shares from your account since you then become liable for the capital gains.

Advise your broker to contact Purnell for authorization to sell the securities and to remit the proceeds to Purnell.
