Five Purnell students volunteered their time serving at the Pottersville Volunteer Fire Company's Superbowl Sunday Pancake Breakfast this past weekend. This collaboration with the Fire Company and Purnell has been a long lasting tradition and students are happy to receive community service hours while also being ambassadors for Purnell. It was sophomore and Chinese International student Huan Li's first time volunteering for the Pancake Breakfast, and she expressed having a great time even though the students were on their feet for almost five hours.
"I really enjoyed this volunteer opportunity, because I always used to help my family like that, when my mom's tea house was still open," said Li.
Two-time volunteer and senior, Chengnan Wu said, "Although it's not easy work, I still enjoyed it and felt proud of myself when I saw people's happy faces. That's also why I chose to volunteer again this year. It's so nice when I got to hear "thank you" from all the people I served."
