Andrew Carnegie on (Mock) Trial
Posted 02/13/2013 10:15AM

Purnell American History students held a mock trial of Andrew Carnegie yesterday, where the prosecution charged him with crimes against humanity for the poor working conditions of his steel workers.  The defense argued that Carnegie was innocent and cited his extensive philanthropic work.

Below, Henry Frick (portrayed by Marie) testified for the prosecution (portrayed by Kim and her team) as the jury watches.  Although the defense won and Carnegie was found innocent, we must remember that the burden of proof is on the prosecution.  Carnegie may not get off so easy next year…
