Purnell Communications Win Big
December 17, 2007

On December 8, the Council for Advancement and Support of Education, District Two, announced its Accolades Awards for publications and communications for 2007. Purnell won in five categories, having submitted eight entries.

The Council for Advancement and Support of Education is the umbrella organization for school development professionals, K-12, college and university. District Two is the largest district in terms of membership with over 700 member institutions, covering the east coast from Canada to Washington, DC.

Each year, CASE presents awards for excellence in communications and best practices in a number of areas.

Purnell won in the following categories:

Category 2 Best Practices in Communications: Gold Award for strategy and materials relating to the Affinities Program.

Category 11 Individual Special Public Relations Projects: Silver Award for strategy and materials relating to the Affinities Program.

Category 20A Magazines: Gold Award for the last two issues of the Purnell Post.

Category 22F Student Recruitment: Individual Pieces: Silver Award for the new Purnell DVD and booklet.

Category 37 Online/CD/DVD Content: Gold Award for the Purnell DVD.

Purnell was the only independent school to win more than two Gold Awards and was far and away the most decorated secondary school. Only the University of Pittsburgh won more awards overall.

Awards will be given out at the Annual District Two Conference in Puerto Rico in February. For a full listing of awards, go here.
