Celebrating Autumn from the Head
September 21, 2009

September 21, 2009

As I look outside and see the beautiful sky and feel the warm weather, it's hard to believe that today marks the last day of summer.  With the help of the beautiful weather, our first weekend of the school year went smoothly.  I had the opportunity to be Head Duty person for the weekend, and enjoyed seeing the girls taking advantage of the activities we offered like volunteering at Bedminster Fall Fest, having a fundraising carwash, or hanging out in the dining hall making jewelry and playing games.  We had a very busy weekend to help the transition for both new and returning students.

This week will be the second full week of classes and your daughters will be experiencing the completion of the honeymoon period.  Now is the time when the reality of school begins to sink in.  At the same time, your daughters will be participating in the activities that they signed up or auditioned for and will be having very small amounts of down time.  It will be important for them to start figuring out when they can take the breaks they need as well as making sure they are getting enough sleep.  Your daughter's advisor will be meeting with her individually this week to set goals for the term or year.  Once they are finalized with a goal plan, and the plans are shared with your daughter's Individual Goal Coordinator, you will receive a copy.

We are continuously updating our website and are looking for ideas about what you might want to have on the Parent section.  Please feel free to give us your suggestions as to what information might be helpful for you to have as a parent. As always, please feel free to contact us if you have any concerns or questions.

Happy Fall!
