Student Showcase Highlights Project Exploration Work March 16, 2007
Purnell's period of intensive project-based learning known as Project Exploration culminated on Saturday, March 10th in the Project Exploration Showcase which featured work from each student undertaken during the unique three week, one class period. Student presentations of learning included everything from Art Series studies and paintings to a presentation on the junior/senior trip to Costa Rica to talks and lessons by Maritime Studies students on marine biomes and issues to the staging of the musical Buggsy Malone (right). Other projects included photography studies, the music industry and hands on history. The unique 18 day period gives students a chance to focus entirely on one area of study and create a significant body of work which demonstrates mastery in that area.
