Purnell is pleased to dedicate the first online exhibition of its Archives in honor of Founders,
Mr. Lyttleton Bowen Purnell Gould and Mrs. Mary "Sis" Krech Gould, May 14, 2010.
Over the past 45 years, Purnell has collected a vast amount of documents, photographs, newspapers, catalogs, videotapes, memorabilia, publications, and plans related to the School's history. We are pleased to bring some of them out to celebrate the vision of Mr. and Mrs. Gould, offer our students a bit of history, create a lasting legacy, and provide a glimpse into the lives of all of the girls who have called Purnell home.
This inaugural exhibition of Purnell Archives is on display in the Ethel Stringfellow Library and reflects the founding of the School and the Early Years (1963-1973). Here you will find a sampling of scrapbooks detailing the lives of many of our students. As we further establish our Archives, we will be actively searching for specific items needed to complete the collection. Please contact the School if you have items that you would like to donate.
We hope you enjoy exploring these early materials and have fond remembrances of your place in Purnell's history.
