The Johnson Art Center is central to the lives and learning of Purnell students.

Classes cover the complete range of media: drawing, collage, pastels, ceramics, photography, oil painting, charcoals and fashion design among others. Students also take art history classes which include trips to New York museums.

Class sizes are small so it's easy to get feedback from the teacher or give input during class critiques. Student artwork is displayed all around campus.

With the support and guidance of professional artists, a wide range of courses of study, easy access to studio space and many opportunities to display work, Purnell offers a real studio arts advantage.
