The Goulds' vision was always clear and Purnell's mission remains true to that original dream: to transform education by creating a learning community where girls discover their unique strengths and gain the confidence to succeed in the world.

We honor the vision of our founders by establishing The Legacy Fund. This Fund will enable alumnae, parents (past and present), friends, and family, to advance Purnell's mission, and preserve the programs that have made Purnell a distinct educational institution for over 1,200 alumnae. It will honor the history and founding of Purnell by Mr. and Mrs. Gould and all others who turned that initial dream a reality.
In 1965,

School opened it doors to its first graduating class. Throughout its forty-five year history, Purnell has depended upon generous and visionary gifts to its endowment. These gifts have funded teaching and learning, financial aid, the arts, athletic programs, and the preservation of our campus. In every way, the endowment funds have supported the success of our students and ultimately our graduates. Today Purnell's endowment fund continues to make a significant difference in the lives of its students. Every Purnell students benefits from every contribution to the endowment fund.

Contributions to The Legacy Fund may be made at one time or in a multi-year pledge and may be designated as an anonymous, individual or family gift. The Legacy Fund supports unrestricted endowment and will be invested according to the Board-approved policies along with Purnell's existing endowment funds. Contributions to The Legacy Fund are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law. Leadership gifts begin at $50,000, however, contributions of any size honor the Goulds' service. Lytt and Sis Gould founded a School that values every member of the Purnell family. In that regard, Purnell welcomes each gift and will use all gifts with great care.
